Deane started the weekend by qualifying first for the second consecutive time, earning a Bye Run for Top 32 and topping Dan Burkett in Top 16. The Irishman then clashed with friend and teammate Piotr Więcek, who himself took a solid ninth in the qualifying before beating Dean Keartney and Alex Heilbrunn in his first two duels.

The Worthouse Drift Team's duo put in an amazing show before Deane went on to battle Dai Yoshihara in Top 4 and Fredric Aasbo in the final, coming out on top twice in fierce battles which both included On More Time runs.

Deane's victory in Monroe is his third of the season after Long Beach and Atlanta, extending his Championship lead over Aasbo to 57 points with just two rounds to go. Next up in Texas Motor Speedway on the 8-9 of September.

“It was one of the most craziest events in my life – says Deane, driving the Worthouse Falken Tire Nissan S15. - It's been really challenging and exhausting too. Every single time we go against each other with Piotr it's just full throttle. We both gave it everything and knew that at least one of us would be moving to the Top 4. Luckily for me I got the win but it was a tough one. Dai was a tough opponent too including a One More time before the battle with Fredric Aasbo in the final. In my lead run I gave it all I had and almost too much. I touched the wall but just managed to save it while he was like a shadow. It was close when I chased too and the judges gave it One More Time. It was even closer and so difficult to call the winner but to win this event has been crazy. The track was really tough but the team worked great and I'm so happy. I want to dedicate this win to my dad who was watching the event from home. That's definitely for him. We'll be back in the US soon for Texas after DMGP at Hockenheim. What a crazy year but I'm loving every minute of it.”

“That a great weekend - adds Piotr Więcek. - We had a rough start and I managed to only do one lap on Thursday but Friday went really well. We had a good qualifying and took ninth while James took the first spot and kept it until the end on Saturday. We had a great battle in the Top 8. One of the best I've had here in the US this year. I gave it my best but left him a bit too much space after the transition but I'm so happy to see him win again. Well done to Fredric and Odi Bakchis too for putting up a great show. Can't wait to be back in the USA again but first we're off to Hockenheim for the final round of DMGP. See you there.”
